Hazard identification in the workplace or job site is required by OSHA standard 1910.132(d)(2) and it helps employees work safely.

Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)

We begin with the elimination of hazards and continue applying the steps of the hierarchy of controls with the goal of engineering out hazards.

At the end of the process, you will have determined how to help employees work safely and the company will become more OSHA compliant. This process can also be shared with your insurance carrier to show how important safety is to the company.

There are many websites and publications that can help. OSHA provides the Job Hazard Analysis booklet as a download.
